machine shop assembly quoting software
Turn Complex Assemblies into Organized Quotes in Minutes
Stop spending hours sorting files, separating hardware, and building quote structures by hand. Machine Research automatically organizes complex assembly RFQs so your team can start estimating sooner.
Upload complete assemblies or build them from PDFs
Automatically organize components, hardware, and child parts
Estimate and quote complex assemblies with confidence
One of the only quoting platforms with true assembly support
Assembly Jobs Just Got a Lot Easier to Quote.
When a customer sends an assembly RFQ, most shops face the same process: manually break it apart, quote each piece separately, and spend hours reassembling the numbers — or pass on the job entirely.
That’s valuable time spent organizing—not estimating. That's a competitive disadvantage. Here is how Machine Research changes that:
- Upload a complete assembly file — Machine Research identifies every component automatically
- Every sub-component estimated by the same AI engine trained on your real job data
- Consolidated quote ready in minutes — not a day of manual decomposition
- Spot issues in the 3D viewer before they become shop floor surprises
Assembly Quoting Shouldn't Require an Engineering Degree and a full afternoon
We built Machine Research inside a working machine shop. We know that assembly jobs are some of the highest-value work in the supply chain — and that losing them to a competitor because you couldn’t quote fast enough is one of the most frustrating things in this business.
That’s exactly why we built this.
Automatically Convert Complex Assemblies into an Organized Estimating Workflow
Intelligent Component Recognition
AI Estimating Across Every Component
Smart Cost Rollup
3D Viewer for Every Component
Supported file types
STEP / .stp · SolidWorks .SLDASM · CATIA .CATPRODUCT · Siemens NX · IGES · + more
Everything your shop needs to quote faster — in one connected platform.
Upload CAD, PDFs, or drawing files individually or in batches — and see the actual 3D part in your browser, no CAD license required. Rotate, measure, section, and analyze geometry before your estimator writes a single number. Supports STEP, CATIA, X_T, SLDPRT, and 10 more file types.
Assembly Estimating
Become the Shop That Can Quote Any Job.
Designed for how shops actually work.
Assembly quoting is a market most shops opt out of. Not because they can’t do the work, but because they can’t do it fast enough.
Machine Research changes that equation.
When assembly jobs come in and you can quote them accurately in hours instead of days, you’re competing for work most shops can’t touch.
Easy to learn. Easy to use. Built to evolve as your shop grows.
Advanced Technology. Surprisingly Simple.
The best software doesn’t give your team more screens to manage. It removes the work that slows them down. We built it to be simple. No rules or libraries to configure or administer, simply upload your assembly files and the system does the work.

Ready to quote sensitivework with confidence?
Assembly RFQs are often your highest-value opportunities. Machine Research removes the manual work that slows your estimators down so you can respond faster, quote more confidently, and win more complex work.
FAQS
What file formats does assembly estimating support?
Machine Research supports STEP (.stp, .step), SolidWorks assembly files (.SLDASM), CATIA product files (.CATPRODUCT), and Siemens NX assembly files.
How does Machine Research handle assemblies with many sub-components?
Machine Research automatically detects and processes each sub-component within the assembly file. Every individual part is analyzed by the AI estimating engine before rolling up into a consolidated assembly quote. You don’t need to decompose the assembly manually.
Does assembly estimating use the same AI engine as single-part estimating?
Yes. The same machine learning model trained on your shop’s real job actuals runs across every component in an assembly, aggregating into a complete assembly cost that reflects your shop’s actual rates and historical performance.
Can I view individual components within an assembly?
Yes. The Machine Research 3D Part Viewer works at the assembly and component level — you can rotate, section, measure, and inspect each part before writing a number.
Is assembly file data stored securely?
Yes. Assembly files are stored in the same ITAR-registered, AWS GovCloud (US)-hosted environment as all Machine Research data. Machine Research is pursuing FedRAMP Moderate authorization, on track for Fall 2026.
Can I quote assemblies during a free trial?
Yes. Assembly estimating is available as part of the standard Machine Research platform. Start a free trial and upload your own assembly files to see how it works with your real jobs. Setup is straightforward — most shops are estimating within the same day they start.
How long does it take to get started with assembly estimating?
Most shops are quoting real parts within hours or days of starting a trial — no lengthy configuration, no rules libraries to build, no administrator required. Upload your assembly file and Machine Research does the rest. If you want help getting set up, Jake and the team will walk you through it.
